ALTERNATIVE PROVISION
The focus of our Alternative Provision is to provide a calm, safe and nurturing environment for young people to learn and grow. This improves our young people' self-esteem and self-confidence which helps them to engage with their education.
We are approved ASDAN course providers where our young people can gain nationally recognised qualifications and build practical living skills and mental resilience.
GCSE programmes are available for Maths, English and Computer Science.
OUR GOALS
Our Alternative Provision is unique in its approach to learning. Each individual will have their own curriculum designed around their academic needs, interests and ambitions. We aim to bring out the very best in each young person, allowing them to thrive in a supportive environment, regardless of any disability or difficulty.
OUR STAFF
All our staff are DBS checked and experienced in their subjects. All staff are also experienced with working with both SEND and NEET young people.
REFERRAL PROCESS
We accept referrals from schools, colleges, the local authority and directly from parents/carers.
Referrals can be made initially by phone to 01663 743487 or by email to youthmattersnewmills@gmail.com
The young person and their referrer/parent/carer will then be invited to visit and see what's on offer.
After this, a formal referral may be made to include any risk assessment. We aim to complete this part of the process within two weeks.
